Thank you!

I began painting as a hobby in 1973 while at home caring for my three small children. I have taken lessons from some of the finest artist in our region over the past 20 years. I began my career as a studio oil artisan at Kimball's Studio in Dublin, Ga. and attended photo retouch school and advanced hand colorist techniques from award winning artist Mrs. Agnus Sherwood in Macon, Ga. It was from the twenty years of experience in dealing with retouch and hand coloring that I developed my skills as a free hand portrait artist. For the past fifteen years I have over 50 oil portraits in the collections of families through out Middle Georgia. My interest are also in oil pastel pet portraits and I do enjoy capturing the lively faces of our furry friends! Through lessons from my various artist friends I have developed my own style which leans toward a loose realism, I know that is an oxymoron but I guess my dual Gemini personality is also full of them. I have a Native American Cherokee / Creek heritage steeped in my fathers English roots mixed with the southern Irish, Scottish influence of my matriarchal roots! I love to paint landscape scenes of rural Georgia and Alabama (my home state) in the mediums of oil, pastels and acrylics! Through the years I have exhibited at various locations from consignment shops to the Dublin Gallery. I can be reached for commissioned art at my studio "Lasting Images" by calling (478) 272-7533 or at my real job as Executive Director of Keep Dublin Laurens Beautiful, Inc. at (478) 272-5162 or e mail Lastingimages2497@yahoo.com
